So what is it exactly that you are doing?

Many have asked me the question and I have had to formulate a clear articulate answer. I often find myself seeking consultation from family and friends, and I had to think of what direction that I want to take this website. This fascination all started when I was back in college at The Ohio State University. Going through my college years I had many different majors. People told me often that it was part of the process. Finding myself was difficult, challenging, and rewarding all at the same time. When I first started my college career, I had dreams of focusing on music education. Upon realizing I was no where near qualified for such a task, and that people weren't gifted with the same music education background, I became quickly annoyed with the thought of spending the rest of my life in that arena.

Here I am in 2008 portraying the famous "Old Man" character in Jesus Christ Superstar in our high school musical.

In retrospective, I don't even think I finished my first college year before I changed my major at least twice. Memories seem to be a bit foggy to me because I was going through a lot of change. My next focus quickly became journalism, and I loved every second of it. Whether I was taking basic communication classes or creative writing classes, I was in love with writing and thought this may be something that I wanted to do. However, fiction was not a style of writing that appealed to me. Actually, I really struggled with the idea of creating a story out of thin air. Those that I have told about this project said they found it a bit odd considering I have such a vivid imagination. It never seemed to come naturally to me. Then again, I have never been one for reading many fiction titles, but I can easily get lost in a video game.

One thing I have always enjoyed was writing on facts and observations. From a young age, I always had an obsession with reporting the news. Two subjects that I have always found interesting have been sports and travel. They have been some of my favorite things ever since I can remember. The one trip that this really resonates with me was when I was ten years old and took a trip to see my aunt in Hawaii. To see the cultural differences from Hawaii to the "mainland" were phenomenal. Somehow, even at my tender age I was able to find my hometown Cleveland Indians on a television all the way out in Honolulu. It was there when I asked my aunt to use her old iMac to create a fictitious box score for a team I created named the "Honolulu Palmtrees." I would draft players from who pitched the night before by looking at the box scores, I think I had John Rocker on my team at one time. Who knows, maybe I actually am good at fiction.

Cars, much like sports have always been a passion of mine.

Getting back to the original question posed way back at the start of this entry. "What is it exactly that you are doing?" Well, 2016 has been a great year for me. Mainly for personal growth, great times, fun adventures, and lots of excellent sporting events that I've been fortunate to be a part of. I have a great job that makes these possible, but I really want to explore this whole writing avenue as a creative outlet and a stress reliever. My hope is that you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing for you. So come join me, and let me tell you stories of the places I have been, the people I have met, and the experiences I have had.
