Fly like an Eagle

Recently my assignments for Massive Report allowed me to explore a team that I had been quite curious about. Four years ago, I caught wind of a professional women's soccer team that was getting started in Central Ohio. I was intrigued because I was a fan of the USWNT. I became interested in Women's Soccer after the drama of the 2011 Women's World Cup in Germany.
My interest in the U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) parlayed into me following this upstart league called the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and I was hopeful that Columbus would be awarded a franchise since we already had Columbus Crew SC. Columbus wasn't awarded an NWSL franchise but that didn't stop Mark Wise from bringing a team to Columbus.
The moment I met Mark, I could tell he was incredibly passionate about Women's Soccer and growing the game in Central Ohio.
Wise and his staff were incredibly welcoming to me. His coaches, technical staff, and front of the house workers were incredibly kind. We have plans to expand coverage on the Columbus Eagles and frankly I cannot wait to work alongside of the terrific and talented individuals.
I want to give a special thanks to Mark Wise, Ken Tishenkel, Grant Burkhardt, and Defender Monique Hanayik for being especially welcoming.
If you are located in Central Ohio, make sure to check out a Columbus Eagles game. If you can't make it to the stadium, you may find the Eagles on YouTube.
