WATCH: Mariners pitcher James Paxton is an American Hero

When do you feel most patriotic?
If you are like me it's during the Fourth of July while I shoot off fireworks and listen to Lee Greenwood sing "Proud to be an American."
For Seattle Mariners pitcher James Paxton, this might be the most patriotic day of the 29-year-old's life. The pitcher was preparing for today's game against the Minnesota Twins when a rogue Bald Eagle swooped in and attempted to land on him.
The eagle was supposed to fly across the stadium as part of the opening ceremony, but it decided to ad-lib. Paxton remained calm and took it all in stride and likely will be immortalized into the next internet meme sensation.
Are you ready for the ironic part? Paxton is a native of Ladner, British Columbia. I'd like to start a petition to make Paxton an honorary citizen of the United States.
Honestly, are you that brave to allow a Bald Eagle to land on your shoulder? I know I'm not.
