They said it couldn't be done. That Columbus should settle for a USL team. Don't tell that to the Haslam and Edwards families. The new Crew owners were on hand this past weekend as their team kicked off the 2019 Major League Soccer season against the New York Red Bulls.

The new owners first match in charge ended in a 1-1 draw. Not a bad outcome but given the circumstances many seemed content with the result.

Perhaps many counted Saturday's match as a win the moment they woke up. It was a home opener being played in Columbus, Ohio, not Austin.
