The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team rekindled its rivalry with the University of Findlay on Monday night inside of Alumni Hall in Columbus, Ohio. The Panthers led nationally-ranked Findlay but couldn't overcome a cold-shooting second half to fall 62-52.
Freshman Zach Szul scored a team-high 16 points and added five rebounds along with two assists. Sophomore Alek West tallied 14 points and seven rebounds, to contribute to a productive Black and Gold backcourt.
Findlay held a seven-point advantage eight minutes in, but the Panthers, sparked by a 12-0 run, took a 24-19 five minutes later. ODU rode its momentum into a halftime lead, 32-29. The Panthers shot 50 percent in the first half, making 11-of-22 attempts. ODU was also 6-for-11 from three-point range (.545).
The Black and Gold return to action Thursday against Walsh University.
